Overview

Local Buy Limited (LBL), a company that was incorporated under the Malawi’s Company Act in 2016 as a Supply Chain Management venture, trades (both at retail and wholesale level) safe, premium and quality agricultural food.

Currently the company trades in Fruit and Vegetables (Irish and Sweet potatoes, Pineapple, Avocado and Mango); Seed (Sesame, Soya, Groundnuts, Beans and Spices); Grains (Soy beans, Sunflower, Groundnuts, Sesame, Beans); and Spices (Garlic, Onions, Paprika, Ginger and Chillie).

Hisory

Local-Buy Ltd was established in 2016 to fill the gaps that existed both on the demand and supply sides in the Malawian agriculture sector with farmers lacking reliable markets, while on the other hand buyers complaining of poor-quality produce and limitation in fulfilment of market orders by farmers. The company services are designed to invest time, expertise, and resources to engage both commodity producers and buyers in a long-term supply chain relationship as chain partners to address key gaps together. Initially, the supplies were organized directly from farms and community Warehouses to large buyers. To ensure quality control, efficiency and supply chain optimization the Company now implements coordinated and centralized aggregation, value addition, distribution and marketing
